Voda...fun! =)

May this group of photos be nothing but my very first work on architectural photography =)
(I do not know that much about the building, architecture or its perspective, I just hope that Vodafone might forgive for this but I'm not making any money from these pictures... I'm just another person in love with this amazing piece of work and motivated to share with his friends ;) believe me, it's a "must photograph" landmark!)

We were just back from having an hot chocolate at Edifício Transparente and on our way home throughout Avenida da Boavista, we just looked at this amazing building that seemed to be asking us to stop for a while.

"Building of the Year 2010" by ArchDaily followers and seen as "one of the most creative office buildings of the world" by the website "The Cool Hunter", this building was designed by the architects José António Barbosa e Pedro Guimarães for a special contest promoted by Vodafone in order to find an original idea for the project.

Hope you'll like it. It goes like this...

Last but not the least, following the image of youth and dynamism associated to this brand I had to manage something to make everything look more authentic or at least mine =)

Thanks!

B day!

It was a weekend like many other... but we had a clear mission: me and my sister were in charge of giving our dogs a bath. This time we did it outside...

Look, Isis doesn't dream about what's going to happen (even if the "enemy" is nearby) =D...

Nevertheless she thinks that's strange that I brought my tripod to their terrace...

... and even more wired that Laica (its foster sister that already found out what's about to happen =D) has already escaped inside!

That's when it finally realizes that it's its turn! =)

Isis doesn't seem uncomfortable with the cold water however every time we'd close the water or brought shampoo into conversation...

It'd be in the need to shake and give a bath to everyone around =)

"shake it like a polaroid picture"

"I've survived this time but you'll never have catch me again!" it seems to think ;)

Now it's Laica's turn (a much more complicated case...)

Even if it looks quite clear at the moment...

... it had to shake and tried to run away a few times =)

"V" for vendetta =D

No rules... great haircut =D

Isis had to make sure everything was ok with Laica and that the "show" was over, at least, for now =)

Important Notice / Disclaimer: during this session no harm was done to this animals even if all of them were brought in against their will =D

"Love Affairs..." =)

I just found myself deeply in love again... I can't tell you why but I feel it... so it must be true! ;)

You know that way you feel that every time you are about to talk about it you need to have a deep breath and when everything seems to lead your mind to that subject that even if you can't understand you won't be able to deny?
It's quite acceptable that normally this feeling doesn't leave room enough for anything else, nevertheless I can't stop being placed face to face to all that moments that changed my life.

Are they...

My first love [ I knew nothing about the subject, what should I do, where should I put my fingers and what was I suppose to expect from this strange element that entered my life when I care so much about many other stuff. In a certain way I have to admit I wasn't ready.

A couple of years later, the same feeling again but with higher standards but still no such thing as commitment, each occasion was "just like starting over" =)

Then It happened that I was called to higher levels of responsibility. It wasn't anymore just about having fun but also to give something, learn how to deal with it, to maintain and being sure that the next time I'll start from where I've ended.

There are some setbacks that can make you falter or at least put you in a position of permanent disbelief but at the end you must listen to what your heart tells you and go for you believe that's right for you and what gives you the guts to know much more about the world and think boundaryless.

Though I was very happy during this period, I started to feel that this wouldn't last forever as it seemed quite evident to me that there were a group of limitations that made me search for answers...

...during hot times and in a very crazy way (once more without commitment) =)

And when least expected, throughout the accumulated experience that only the milage and the subsequent charm can provide ;)

Other friends presented me to very freeweelin' and stylish ways of doing it...

and even if it can be evasive and rewarding enough I think I've always believe that the true answer was about to come...

In the social networking era, I'd risk to say

"Pedro Miguel Fontes is in a relationship with"... his Canon EOS 550 D =D

Have a nice and productive week and thanks for coming!

Obelisco da Praia da Boa Nova

As you may know, every weekend I usually go for a run from the Casa de Chá da Boa Nova (a Tea House designed by Siza Vieira) till Praia da Memória (a beach) and back.

I know, you'd say that it's not that hard and it's true. But this practice is so much more about the view and not about how far or how fast I'd be able to run.

This practice is very important to me as during the week specially now that I'm working in a small but nice village in the inside part of Portugal (Oliveira de Frades - not Oliveira do Bairro, Oliveira de Azemeis or Oliveira do Hospital as some of my friends are always saying =D) near Viseu so... there's no room for such thing as sea views =)

A few months ago, I decided to go a little bit further and I found out this amazing landmark to be a symbol of an important occasion in portuguese history.

It's called Obelisco da Praia da Memória, and it's located in this place because it was where in 1832 a group of 7500 men landed led by D. Pedro IV focused in establishing in Portugal a modern and liberal regime against the absolutism.

As Tracy Chapman would say "Talkin' about a Revolution" =)

Please find above some snapshots that may challenge your curiosity ;)
